This is the newest addition to Reading and Beyond and I am incredibly excited to open the doors to my Little Preloved Book Shop which has one mission to get kids Hooked with Preloved Books.

One of my guilty pleasures is shopping for preloved books whether it be trawling the charity shops, online sellers or preloved events. I love discovering new to me books and stories that you wouldn't necessarily find on the supermarket shelves or easily on the high street. I also love the thought of filling children's bookshelves with a diverse and wide range of books which open their eyes to the fabulous world we live in.

So what do I mean by preloved?

Preloved means another child or children have loved and enjoyed the book and now it is your child's turn to explore and enjoy it.  I love the story behind the book and chatting to my own children about who else may of owned the book and what journey it may of been on before it reached our home. Preloved Books have been on a journey but are still in great condition ready to be read over and over again.

Doing our little bit....buying preloved is also a great way of helping to reduce waste and to living more sustainably. I am so keen to make sure we all do our bit to be more friendly to our planet and by teaching our little ones about reusing and recycling this is a great step in the right direction.

My pledge...for every order from My Little Preloved Book Shop I will donate a book to a local supported housing unit in the centre of Preston for homeless families. So with each order know that you are helping to give a little or big one at the centre the opportunity to enjoy and explore the magic of books and stories.

 I truly believe all children should have access to beautiful books and this is a little way of helping to ensure more children can.
